Program: First Step Exporter

Program details: First Step Exporter provides financial assistance of up to $10,000 to Victorian businesses looking to research and explore opportunities in export markets for the first time. The grant covers 50% of expenses, including market research, promotional material, airfares and trade fair participation.

Program: Access America

Program details:This program helps Victorian businesses establish new export markets in America through provision of market intelligence, strategies for entry, cultural training, networking, agent identification and evaluation of products/services.Applicants must be approved by the Department of Business and Innovation.

Business Victoria

Program: Innovation Voucher

Program details: The Innovation Voucher program provides businesses with either research and development vouchers or innovation skills vouchers to access facilities, goods/services, training, advice or expertise provided by publicly-funded research organisations or other companies. The program is geared towards SMEs and aims to support innovation and business growth. Maximum funding for R&D vouchers is $25,000 and maximum funding for innovation skills vouchers is $10,000.

Regional Development Victoria

Program: Economic Infrastructure Program

Program details: This program aims to improve the productivity of regional Victoria by providing investment opportunities for strategic infrastructure and strengthening regional industries. This includes sub-programs encouraging businesses to create jobs, create new community programs and develop tourism initiatives.

Department of Planning and Community Development

Program: Community Support Grants (CSG)

Program details: CSGs provide funding for community infrastructure projects, planning projects and other community initiatives aimed at improving community facilities, services and connections. Funding ranges from $30,000 to $500,000 depending on the type of project. Examples of successful projects include funding for a youth centre in Melton and the development of a community garden in Ballarat.
